You could say we live to make memories. There is, however, no such thing as an accurate memory. Memories fade, change, deform, merge. Details are hidden, and fictional elements are added. You remember the last time you remembered the event, not the event itself. Every time you remember something, you overwrite its original memory, which ultimately leads to an erroneous image of the event.

Recollection is a zine about how we transform our memories into a new truth. Over time, our memories change. Photos are seen as mnemonic, but if our initial perception is already flawed is, what story does a photo tell? Recollection is a visual investigation and a personal experiment into the influence I have as a designer on the story.
