“Buy less, choose well, make it last”

—Vivienne Westwood

Upcycle is a two week self initiated project inspired by the article “Katherine Hamnett: Human actions are threatening the very existence of life on earth”. It is a well known fact that the fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries. And even though the main responsibilities lay with the industry and its coorporations themselves, what can consumers do to reduce the wastefull, consumerist lifestyle the fashion industry has forced upon us.

Upcycle is a project containing six second hand clothing staples which have been transformed through subtle and timeless alterations and silk screened prints, creating a essential part of the everyday wardorbe. The most sustainable and envoirment friendly wardrobe is a lasting one.

Upcycle is documented by means of a book, including an editorial, sketches, inspiration and the original article.
